Key People of EXIM Bank of India

The governance and management of the Export-Import Bank of India (EXIM Bank) are carried out through its Board of Directors, which includes representatives from the Government of India, the Reserve Bank of India, public sector financial institutions, and the banking sector. The Board is responsible for formulating policies, providing strategic direction, and overseeing the bank’s operations.

As per the latest available information, Ms. Harsha Bangari serves as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of EXIM Bank and leads the institution’s overall operations and strategic initiatives. Mr. N. Ramesh serves as the Deputy Managing Director and assists in managing the bank’s day-to-day activities.

The Board also includes senior government officials such as Mr. Dammu Ravi, Secretary (Economic Relations), Ministry of External Affairs; Mr. Rajat Kumar Mishra, Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance; Mr. Suchindra Misra, Additional Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance; and Mr. Vipul Bansal, Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Past Chief Executives of EXIM Bank

Since its establishment in 1982, EXIM Bank has been led by several distinguished banking professionals who have contributed significantly to its growth and development. The first Chief Executive was Mr. R. C. Shah, who served from 1982 to 1985 and played a key role in laying the foundation of the institution.

He was succeeded by Mr. Kalyan Banerji (1985–1993), followed by Ms. Tarjani Vakil (1993–1996), who became one of the prominent women leaders in India’s financial sector. Mr. Y. B. Desai served from 1997 to 2001, after which Mr. T. C. Venkat Subramanian led the bank from 2001 to 2009.

During 2009–2010, Ms. Ravneet Kaur held additional charge as Chief Executive. She was followed by Mr. T. C. A. Ranganathan (2010–2013) and Mr. Anurag Jain, who held additional charge during 2013–2014. Mr. Yaduvendra Mathur served as Chairman and Managing Director from 2014 to 2017, followed by Mr. David Rasquinha, who led the institution from 2017 to 2021.

Since 2021, Ms. Harsha Bangari has been serving as the Chairman and Managing Director of EXIM Bank. Under her leadership, the bank continues to strengthen India’s export sector, expand international partnerships, and support Indian businesses in global markets.
